What are the operating hours and locations of the LynxDx testing site?

Ann Arbor @ 2|42
Mon–Sat (except Thursday): 8am–6pm

What type of COVID-19 test is this?

The diagnostic method used is a high-accuracy qPCR COVID-19 test detecting the presence of the virus. It is a molecular test that is run in a laboratory.

This is not a rapid antigen COVID-19 test.

This is not an antibody/serology test and does not detect the presence of antibodies or a history of infection.

What is the cost of the test?
Testing deemed medically necessary will be covered by insurance and in most cases there are no out-of-pocket fees. Some insurance providers are applying coinsurance and/or deductible amounts to patient responsibility. Contact your insurance provider before testing to understand your benefits for COVID-19 testing. LynxDx will submit a claim to your active health plan on your behalf ranging from $200-$285.
Uninsured patients will not be turned away but must pay the self-pay rate at the time of registration. The self-pay rate is $95.00.
When will I receive my results?

The estimated turnaround time is up to 2 calendar days from when your sample was collected. Turnaround times can vary and are not guaranteed.

How accurate is the test?

The LynxDx COVID-19 saliva qPCR test has been validated to have >99% specificity and >95% sensitivity.

There is less than a 1% chance of having a false positive result and less than a 5% chance of a negative test result despite being infected with COVID-19.

Am I required to pre-register?

Yes, pre-registration is required. Please register here.

You will need your driver’s license or state-issued ID card and insurance information.

Pre-registration ensures you are in our system; it does not guarantee a reserved spot in line.

How will I receive my COVID-19 test results?

The results will be sent directly to the email or phone number via text message based on the information you provided when you registered.

What kind of test results are possible?

Negative: The test detected no evidence that you were infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Continue to follow CDC guidelines.

Positive: The test detected the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in your sample. Follow up with your primary physician and follow CDC guidelines.

Indeterminate: The test produced a result that could not be confidently classified as negative or positive. Please retest.

Invalid Sample: We could not process your sample successfully in the laboratory. Please retest.

Why are there no test results when I log in to my account?

Test results will be in your account as soon as the test has been completed.

How are samples collected?

We are using an easy and quick saliva-based self-collection method that is entirely contactless.

Am I required to schedule an appointment?

Yes. Register first, and upon completing the registration, you will receive a link to schedule your appointment (https://lynxdx.health/schedule.)

Can family members view and share results under a single account?

What is the optimal amount of saliva I should deposit into the collection tube?

The optimal amount of saliva collected is about halfway up the tube.

Please do not eat or drink 30 minutes before providing your saliva sample.

When does my test result link expire?

The link expires after you view your results or after 48 hours of inactivity.

How do I get a PDF copy of my results?

By creating a LynxDx account, you can download your results as a PDF file and share them via email, text, print, or fax. We are unable to send you copies of your results.

How do I cancel my appointment?

You do not need to cancel your appointment.

Can I reuse the same link I received from my first test to access the results for my second test?

No, you will receive a new link via text or email with your new result.

What ages do you test children?

Testing is not recommended for children under the age of 4 without parent or adult supervision.

Can I access this link from any device?

We support most operating systems.

I am a non-US citizen. Can I still register for a test with LynxDx?

Yes, please send an email to covid19support@lynxdx.com for instructions on registration.

Which web browsers are supported for viewing test results?

We recommend viewing results with the following web browsers: Google Chrome for Windows and Mac, iOS & Android, Firefox for Windows and Mac, and Safari for iOS.
